O projeto Riqueza Descoberta no BRICS Literatura Brasileira de Todos os Cantos do Mundo, criado pelas escritoras Claudia Canto e Lau Nascimento, inicia um novo capítulo em sua trajetória internacional ao estabelecer uma ponte literária e cultural com a China. A iniciativa, que visa internacionalizar histórias de brasileiros e brasileiras, já passou por países como Portugal, Alemanha, Suíça, Inglaterra, Escócia e Itália, com coletâneas bilíngues, livros traduzidos e eventos acadêmicos.
A chegada ao continente asiático se dá por meio de um grupo de mulheres brasileiras que vivem na China, que aceitaram compartilhar suas histórias reais de migração e transformação. A ação conta com o apoio institucional da Embaixada do Brasil na China, reforçando o papel da literatura como ferramenta de resistência, identidade e reconstrução simbólica.
Mulheres do Brasil: Onde tudo começou
A semente do projeto foi plantada dentro do Grupo Mulheres do Brasil, onde Claudia Canto encontrou mentoria, conexões e senso de pertencimento.
“O Grupo Mulheres do Brasil me deu ferramentas e coragem. Ali entendi que poderíamos conectar vozes e escrever as histórias de outras mulheres imigrantes. Usei essa plataforma como um verdadeiro escritório de conexões literárias”, afirma a escritora.
O apoio da rede foi fundamental para o nascimento das primeiras coletâneas e biografias bilíngues. Um dos marcos dessa trajetória foi a publicação do livro da líder do núcleo de Düsseldorf, Iramaia Kodschedoff , lançado pela Editora Claudia Canto e distribuído também em formato audiobook com trilha sonora do talentoso DJ e historiador Kadu Toschi. A obra teve prefácio escrito por ninguém menos que a empresária Luiza Helena Trajano, presidente do grupo.

Histórias que viram estatísticas vivas
As obras do projeto têm como foco principal as histórias reais de mulheres que transformaram dor em potência e invisibilidade em palavra. Uma dessas publicações chegou às mãos do Presidente de Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, como símbolo da força da mulher brasileira no exterior.
Cinema e ancestralidade: parceria com a África do Sul
Além da China, o projeto acaba de estreitar laços com a cineasta sul-africana Xoliswa Sithole, através do Coletivo Mulheres em Série. A cineasta é reconhecida internacionalmente por seu trabalho voltado à ancestralidade, infância e justiça social. A aproximação com a África do Sul representa mais um passo na consolidação do eixo cultural do BRICS por meio da literatura e do audiovisual.
Literatura como ponte, farol e estrada
A autobiografia de Claudia Canto, Morte às Vassouras, já se tornou objeto de estudo acadêmico na Universidade Nova de Lisboa e integra o acervo de pesquisa da Universidade de Oxford. A autora também já apresentou sua obra em instituições de prestígio como Unicamp, USP, Kings College London e Universidade de Glasgow. Suas palestras misturam arte, humor, experiência de vida e o que ela chama de “inteligência orgânica”.
Mais do que um projeto literário, Riqueza Descoberta é um movimento social e cultural, que transforma histórias em estatísticas vivas, coletâneas em pontes de acolhimento e livros em faróis de reconstrução identitária. Com uma escrita marcada por alma, verdade e entrelinhas potentes, a literatura brasileira ganha movimento e voz nos quatro cantos do mundo.

Project conceived by Claudia Canto and Lau Nascimento strengthens cultural diplomacy with stories of Brazilian women around the world.
The project Riqueza Descoberta at BRICS – Brazilian Literature from All Corners of the World, created by writers Claudia Canto and Lau Nascimento, begins a new chapter in its international journey by building a literary and cultural bridge with China. The initiative, which aims to internationalize the stories of Brazilians, has already passed through countries such as Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, England, Scotland, and Italy, with bilingual anthologies, translated books and academic events.
Its arrival on the Asian continent comes through a group of Brazilian women living in China, who agreed to share their real stories of migration and transformation. The action is institutionally supported by the Brazilian Embassy in China, reinforcing the role of literature as a tool of resistance, identity, and symbolic reconstruction.
Women of Brazil: Where It All Began
The seed of the project was planted within the Women of Brazil Group, where Claudia Canto found mentorship, connections, and a sense of belonging.
“The Women of Brazil Group gave me tools and courage. It was there that I realized we could connect voices and write the stories of other immigrant women. I used this platform as a true literary connection hub,” says the writer.
The support of the network was fundamental for the birth of the first bilingual anthologies and biographies. One of the milestones of this journey was the publication of the book by the Düsseldorf group leader, Iramaia Kotschedoff, released by Claudia Canto Publishing and also distributed as an audiobook, with a soundtrack of Kadu Toschi. The preface was written by none other than businesswoman Luiza Helena Trajano, president of the group.
Stories That Become Living Statistics
The project’s books focus on real stories of women who transformed pain into power and invisibility into words. One of these publications reached the hands of the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, as a symbol of the strength of Brazilian women abroad.
Cinema and Ancestry: Partnership with South Africa
In addition to China, the project, together with the Collective Women in Series, has just formed a partnership with South African filmmaker Xoliswa Sithole, internationally recognized for her work on ancestry, childhood, and social justice. The connection with South Africa represents yet another step in consolidating the cultural axis of BRICS through literature and audiovisual media.
Literature as a Bridge, Lighthouse, and Path
Claudia Canto’s autobiography Morte às Vassouras (Death to Brooms) has already become a subject of academic study at Universidade Nova de Lisboa and is part of the research archive at the University of Oxford. The author has also presented her work at prestigious institutions such as Unicamp, USP, Kings College London, and the University of Glasgow. Her lectures blend art, humor, life experience, and what she calls “organic intelligence.”
More than a literary project, Riqueza Descoberta is a social and cultural movement that transforms stories into living statistics, anthologies into bridges of belonging, and books into lighthouses of identity reconstruction.
